A colleague posed the following question to me: In earlier versions of ArcGIS, user could output layered map compositions to Adobe Illustrator, however AI is no longer an export option anymore. With a goal of producing a page-size map, with layers of vector material (lines, polys, texts) above a 300-ppi raster shaded-relief base, how should the composition be output to produce a layered PDF?
