Hi Pete, and NEARC Community,

ArcMap can still export to Adobe Illustrator. ArcGIS Pro, however, does not as we speak, but it is in the development process. In fact, if you are going to the UC this year, there is a Holistic Testing event going on for attendees you could jump in on.

THE SCIENCE OF WHERE ®

Subject: illustration question

A colleague posed the following question to me:

In earlier versions of ArcGIS, user could output layered map compositions to Adobe Illustrator, however AI is no longer an export option anymore. With a goal of producing a page-size map, with layers of vector material (lines, polys, texts) above a 300-ppi raster shaded-relief base, how should the composition be output to produce a layered PDF?

Anyone have any thoughts?

- Pete
