Good Afternoon,

On behalf of the CT State Leadership Team for the CT Maps Competition, I am excited to announce Connecticut’s 2019 winners. This is an Esri-sponsored ArcGIS Online Competition for high school and middle school students across the country. Students work individually or in teams of two to complete a research project within their state and present the results in a story map or web application. The CT Leadership Team selects the top five projects in each division and awards each team prizes. The top entry in each division is entered into a national competition for the chance to earn a trip to Esri’s Education Summit and User Conference in July in San Diego, CA, including the opportunity to present their projects during the Monday Map Gallery as part of the world’s largest gathering of GIS users. In 2019, 36 states participated in the competition. Esri will announce the 2019 national award winners on June 3 so stay tuned!

Congratulations to Connecticut’s two winners and to all of the students and teachers who participated this year! Please visit the CT Maps Competition webpage on the CT GIS Network website and take a minute to view all of the winning story maps. The students have worked hard on these.
