One of our own, past NEARC president and recipient of Peter Thacher award. Established the Environmental Data Center at URI in the 1980's, where I, and countless others, got our start. Congratulations Pete!! Peter August, professor emeritus of natural resources science at the University of Rhode Island, was presented with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Environmental Merit Award at ceremonies today in Boston.
