Have you seen a cool interactive online map and wondered how do they do that? Have a cool idea for just such a map and want to learn how to make it a reality? You’re in luck! UConn CLEAR’s Geospatial Training Program is offering a hands-on
workshop covering ArcGIS Online and Story Maps on December 11 at our office in Haddam, CT. If this sounds appealing, read on.

The morning portion of the workshop covers the basics of creating custom, interactive web maps using Esri’s ArcGIS Online. Topics include an overview of the ArcGIS Online platform; account types and credits; working with the ArcGIS Online
web map including creating content, finding and adding web services, customizing pop-ups, sharing, publishing and embedding web maps; and tips & tricks for making it all go smoothly.
During the afternoon, participants will integrate his/her web map into two Esri’s Story Maps (final products shown below). This workshop focuses on Esri’s well-polished “classic” Story Map Journal and Story Map Tour templates but will include
