Dear Colleagues,
As has been shared in the Daily Digest and UConn Health Lifeline, the deadline for submitting applications for 2020 flexible spending accounts is tomorrow, October 31. The University encourages all eligible employees to consider taking
advantage of these programs. Descriptions of both programs are below.
MEDFLEX
MEDFLEX provides
employees with a tax-free way to pay out-of-pocket medical care expenses (between $520 and $2,700) not covered by State health and dental plans. All participants must either enroll online or submit a completed
MEDFLEX enrollment form.
DCAP
The Dependent Care Assistance Program, DCAP,
is a flexible spending account (FSA) offering tax advantages in helping employees pay for qualified dependent care expenses. All participants must either enroll online or submit a completed
DCAP enrollment form.
Enrollment and Additional Information
For employees who enroll online, UConn’s Company Identifier is SOCT.
The plans do not accept late enrollments. It is highly recommended that participants keep a copy of the completed election form and proof of submission, such as a fax confirmation or, for mailed
applications, an October 31st postmark.
