Happy New Year!

Have you ever wanted to mentor a young adult interested in geospatial technology? Or, do you have a teen in your family who might be interested in mapping or conservation science? Maybe a partner, friend, or family member that is a high school science teacher? If you answered yes to any of these, then check out the Conservation Training Partnerships (CTP) program within the Natural Resources Conservation Academy at UConn!

CTP is a NSF-funded program that trains teens and adults in geospatial technology and conservation stewardship. Teams participate in a free two-day workshop and learn to use conservation and mapping tools in the field. They then go on to design and complete a small conservation project in their community. Applications are now open for the THREE free CTP workshops being held across the state in June – find one near you: http://nrca.uconn.edu/students-adults/

To date, the NRCA has trained over 260 participants and completed 187 community projects in CT. If you’d like to participate as an adult partner, OR if you have a teen or teacher in the family who may benefit from this or other NRCA programs, please visit the NRCA website (https://nrca.uconn.edu) to learn more about these opportunities or email [log in to unmask]
