*POST**‐**DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW IN*

*MEASUREMENT AND STATISTICAL ANALYSIS (Job #15195)*

The *T. Denny Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics (SSFD)*, an
interdisciplinary unit at Arizona State University (
https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthesanfordschool.asu.edu%2F&data=02%7C01%7CEDRESMETH-L%40listserv.uconn.edu%7Ce22de7a4fb144db4d16b08d79b6a9491%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C1%7C637148754371452531&sdata=5DFQ%2BJYhBcYI9aPlQC%2BwFZgzGq8Nr4Qnaa30UHWgBO0%3D&reserved=0), invites applications for a full-time,
12-month Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position (with a second year
possible) in measurement and statistical analysis with an anticipated start
date of August 1, 2020, or shortly thereafter. The Sanford School of Social
and Family Dynamics is home to a vibrant, interdisciplinary community of
over 60 teaching, research, and clinical faculty members. The School hosts
BA, MA, MS, and PhD degrees in Family and Human Development and Sociology,
and a specialization in Measurement and Statistical Analysis (MASA) is
available to doctoral students.

This postdoctoral fellowship entails conducting methodological research
both independently and collaboratively with faculty and graduate students
who have aligned interests. Choice of faculty mentor(s) will depend on the
mutual interests of the selected candidate and the 9 faculty members with
strength and research interests in MASA. The postdoctoral fellow will also
contribute to the mission of the MASA group–the MASA faculty and several
graduate students who meet regularly to pursue research and other
activities that advance quantitative methods (
https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthesanfordschool.asu.edu%2Fmasa&data=02%7C01%7CEDRESMETH-L%40listserv.uconn.edu%7Ce22de7a4fb144db4d16b08d79b6a9491%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C1%7C637148754371452531&sdata=k%2B2h8AsZtQoOlg7Um0J%2FyIe60e0rLvgoi5vc6qbbtxE%3D&reserved=0). This includes teaching one course
per year aligned with the scholar’s interests, as well as through
activities such as coordinating a research group and a colloquia series
with a focus on quantitative methods. For this position, successful
candidates must have a PhD or equivalent by the time of appointment in
quantitative methods, human development, sociology, psychology, education,
or a related field, with strong training in quantitative methods. The MASA
faculty have diverse interests, including mediation analysis, structural
equation modeling, multilevel modeling, longitudinal modeling, psychometric
theory, item response theory, Bayesian inference, Bayesian networks, latent
class modeling, small group analyses, complex survey analysis, integrative
data analysis, formal demographic methods, and social network analysis. We
encourage applications from candidates with interests in these areas as
well as other quantitative methods. The ideal candidate will also have
demonstrated potential for establishing a long-term research program in
quantitative methodology.

Applications will be accepted through Interfolio, at

Please submit a letter of interest
describing your research interests, curriculum vitae, two letters of
recommendation, and two samples of written work. Review of completed
applications will begin on *February 1, 2020*, and will continue each week
thereafter until the search is completed. For additional information,
please feel free to contact the search committee chair, Dr. Roy Levy (
