Good Afternoon,

I'd like to share a unique opportunity for CT middle and high school students. The 2020 CT Maps Competition<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fctgis.uconn.edu%2Fct-maps-competition%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7C2d598b812e74439e71f908d7aa63e30c%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C0%7C637165219055049160&sdata=8DBzQ3UGBdBqL2z%2F5QwToK%2Bzu55m4MCH5ymFYy1Fpks%3D&reserved=0> is an opportunity for students in grades 4-12 to showcase a project or idea by authoring an Esri storymap or ArcGIS Online web map. Student entries will be judged by a panel of GIS professionals and the top 5 entries from each division (middle school & high school) will be selected. Cash prizes will be awarded to these participants. The top winner from each division will then go on to compete nationally in Esri's 2020 ArcGIS US School Competition<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fstorymaps.arcgis.com%2Fstories%2F70cb6f2ba85f4dd183f2e1eb72fc7a86&data=02%7C01%7C%7C2d598b812e74439e71f908d7aa63e30c%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C0%7C637165219055089149&sdata=PQ3gjNaFnJvh2cLzpNv6EmOd0cbfBkJDch1LvhzESVU%3D&reserved=0>. One middle school and one high school winner will be selected by Esri and will be given the opportunity to present their storymap/map at the 2020 Esri Education Summit in San Diego in July (expenses paid!). That's a very big deal.

Check out some of the important deadlines below and visit the CT Maps Competition webpage<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fctgis.uconn.edu%2Fct-maps-competition%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7C2d598b812e74439e71f908d7aa63e30c%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C0%7C637165219055089149&sdata=B6%2FIxbDMm%2BamiWWS9nDTAgpoWBSERPbM2UR6Z7pS0Uw%3D&reserved=0> on the CT GIS Network site to learn more and see last year's winning story maps.
