Hi Everyone,

I wanted to pass along observations on EdTech, COVID, and GIS trends related to tech transfer education.  A report just came out with new predictions of online training consumption for the next 6 years.  Initially e-Learning was projected to be a $440B market before COVID-19.  Now due to the pandemic, learners have been forced to seek new ways to learn online and it has opened their eyes beyond the standard higher ed classroom.  The new predictions are that e-Learning will be a $1T market with 30% annual growth by 2026.

Why this is significant to this group is that you or your kids will be thrust into making continuous education decisions on how to learn and stay relevant. No longer will the school or the degree be the benchmark on your educational accomplishments.  Showing technical prowess is key as evidenced by Google, Apple, and IBM not requiring college degrees anymore.

Along these lines, you should take a look at a new GIS education paradigm for many in this group that might want to be instructors and lead the charge in promoting enterprise GIS skills:  www.bootcampgis.com

Thanks,
