This is being sent to the 4-H Fair, Middlesex & New Haven 4-H Distribution Lists:

4-H PROJECT EVALUATION FOR 2020

In light of the cancellation of the 2020 4-H Fair and understanding project work needs evaluation, we have decided, with input from the Fair Association Officer team and surveys sent to the general 4-H membership, that evaluating record books will be the primary project evaluation for this year. Our leaders have first-hand knowledge of how COVID-19 has directly impacted each member. We as staff feel strongly that this best suits your leaders to be the evaluators.

Group Members - complete your project record book. Make sure that the record sheets are in some type of folder or binder. It is suggested that members use report folders or three ring binders. All record keeping materials can be found on the UConn 4-H website
http://www.4-h.uconn.edu/resource/record.php
Give the "4-H Record Book” score sheet (included with this mailing) and record book to your 4-H Leader in July. Leaders should be contacting their members to arrange this exchange. Upon completion of the evaluation process, your leader will return the record book and the individual score card to each member.

Individual Members - should ask an interested adult to evaluate their record book or contact the 4-H office by email to arrange evaluation.

Explorer Members - have a special project record titled My Explorers Activity Summary. (contact your leader if you need one).

Leaders –
•	arrange to have members book's evaluated
•	complete a score sheet for each record book
•	indicate the color ribbon each should receive.
•	Digitally submit a completed copy of the Club List of Record Books Evaluated to [log in to unmask] by August 6.

In this unprecedented year, your understanding and expectations should weigh heavily in this evaluation process. You have specific knowledge of what members have and have not been able to accomplish. You are allowed to make appropriate exceptions to the regular evaluation process.

We appreciate how hard everyone has worked through all of 2020 – members, leaders, fair officers and mentors. We proud of your resiliency and perseverance. We look forward to seeing all of you soon.
