Good Morning,

The CT GIS Network is conducting our own 2020 Census to update contact information for GIS practitioners in CT. We conducted a similar survey in 2017 but as people move around we find it helpful to update this list periodically. This information will be posted on our website (https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fctgis.uconn.edu%2F&data=02%7C01%7CCTGIS-L%40LISTSERV.UCONN.EDU%7Cac89636d224e41a751cf08d83ac9fd55%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C0%7C637323986499577636&sdata=3Go8KUKInam9XlcigEGJwwpkP%2F%2BOC%2FM2VQwlsAZFozk%3D&reserved=0) and also be used by our steering committee to reach out and provide feedback to individuals in specific GIS fields (municipal, regional, state, private, etc).

For those of you who are unfamiliar, the CT GIS Network is a voluntary association of individuals and organizations that use GIS-based technologies and data. The Network's purpose is to connect users, learn about GIS activities, explore collaborations and discover information resources - all of which promote a dynamic and innovative community of GIS users.

The GIS Network currently has 4 subcommittees which focus on specific GIS tasks in CT. We are always seeking more participation in these groups, so in the survey you can select if you would like to more information on any of them. We appreciate any time and effort you can contribute to enhance GIS in CT!

Standards: This subcommittee will work cooperatively across sectors to build statewide GIS standards that allow for reliable and consistent collection, processing, and sharing of commonly used datasets.

Education: This subcommittee focuses on GIS education, including professional development, higher education, as well as K-12 education.

Communications: This subcommittee is charged with network outreach. In particular, this subcommittee updates the website, our social media accounts, and in general works to improve communication between GIS practitioners in CT.

Data Acquisition and Advocacy: This subcommittee works to acquire statewide data products such as aerial imagery and LiDAR collection. This subcommittee was vital to the 2016 and 2019 statewide flights.

Moving forward, the Network will continue to host virtual meetings. We held our first virtual meeting in June and are looking for ways to improve the experience for the upcoming September meeting. At the end of the survey there are additional questions regarding the virtual meetings. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your participation!

Mark
