ISSS in Storrs has reopened to the public on a limited schedule, with very limited staffing.

Office Schedule: 

Monday: 9 am - 12 pm, 1 pm - 4 pm

Tuesday: 9 am - 12 pm, 1 pm - 4 pm

Thursday: 9 am - 12 pm, 1 pm - 4 pm

During these hours, the front desk will be open for document pick-up, and for questions that cannot be handled remotely.

 

Most services offered by ISSS will continue to be offered remotely only. These remote services include:

• ISSS advising appointments How to Schedule An Appointment
• "Drop In" advising - Quick questions without an appointment can be answered Monday-Friday, 1:30 - 3:30 pm through the advising chatbot at isss.uconn.edu. 
• Most immigration processing (Reduced Course Load, CPT, Extension Request, Travel Signature Request, OPT) is requested through our website. Many of these approvals can be issued as electronic documents.
• Documents that must be issued as paper forms, which include all DS-2019 forms and OPT I-20s, can either be picked up at the ISSS office or mailed to you. 
• Regional campus ISSS offices (Stamford, Law, Hartford) will not be open, but the advisors for these campuses are still available through remote services. Any paper documents issued for regional campus students can be mailed to you, or you may pick up the forms in Storrs.
• All workshops and ISSS events will be held remotely during Fall 2020 semester and we will post links for sign-up through this email digest, and on the ISSS calendar. 

Travel Signatures

Students who will temporarily depart the U.S. after August 31 should follow the standard process to report your travel to ISSS and request a travel signature through the ISSS Portal. All visiting scholars should also report travel and request a travel signature through the same ISSS Portal link. 

Travel signatures for students who departed before August 31 are being processed as part of our Fall 2020 student location verification process, and have been,  or will be automatically issued for you.
