Middlesex & New Haven 4-H Recognition for 2020
And Election Plans for 2021 4-H Fair

Despite the inability to meet in person since March, we still would like to celebrate 4-H member’s participation during the past year. After receiving input from volunteers, we decided to hold a drop-in awards celebration. We negotiated a centrally-located site to both counties for December 12th from 1 – 3 pm as the date for the drop-in. In case of inclement weather, we would hope to hold it on December 13, same time. The event will take place at Allynbrook Park in Durham, just up the street from the fairgrounds. Full details will be sent out later.

For this year only, club leaders can nominate 4-H members for senior county medals or junior project certificates using the form on the next page, in addition to general 4-H participation. All nominees should have completed a record book and submitted for judging at the club level July/August. Only members listed on that sheet will receive recognition. 4-H members, if you feel you project work for 2020 is deserving of county level recognition, make sure you contact your leader. Independent members – email Emily or Peggy. Volunteer recognition will also be conducted at this time.

We prefer that each member or volunteer come by to pick up their recognition items in person. However, if you are unable to attend, you can arrange in advance for someone else to pick up your items. This can be done via email to Peg or Emily prior to December 10th.

We will also be holding the election for the 4-H Fair association for 2021 Officers and ratifying the mentors in person on the 12th of December. A complete ballot will be emailed prior to that date. 4-H Members should print out the ballot, make their selection and bring their completed ballot to turn in on that day. The ballot will also contain meeting dates for approval. We will also be requesting theme suggestions shortly so they can also be voted on.
