The CT GIS Working Group has been working with Representative Cristin McCarthy Vahey & Senator Norm Needleman to advance the cause of CT GIS Coordination at the state level. The CT GIS Network has a dedicated page on our website if you
need to learn more about this initiative:

Our group had a productive conversation with members of OPM and the Governor’s office this morning. To follow up on our conversation we’ve been asked to find examples where GIS, and/or state-acquired data – like imagery, has helped your
organization save money. Stories that work in the opposite direction are helpful too: what barriers has your organization faced that could have been resolved with an agency like our neighboring states have?
We all intuitively know GIS saves time, effort, and importantly, costs. We need your stories to bring GIS to life. Your examples will help paint a compelling picture for why CT needs a GIS Coordinating Agency.
Thank you and happy holidays!
