The Harvard College Library is looking for a GIS Outreach Librarian.  We are looking for someone who knows the tools of spatial analysis and visualization and has the skills to communicate the value of this technology across disciplines.  This position will require outreach to faculty and their teaching fellows to let them know about the services offered in the Map Collection and how those services can help them in their research and teaching.  It also includes an element of instruction on in-demand tools and broader topics such as geoliteracy, bias and racism as reflected in spatial data collection and use, and spatial analysis concepts through both synchronous workshops and asynchronous tutorials.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS
• 3+ years experience using spatial analysis/visualization software
• Fluency with the ESRI suite of software products and at least one on-line cartographic/spatial tool, such as Carto, Leaflet, OpenLayers or MapBox
