Hi all,

The Central Transportation Planning Staff of the Boston Region MPO has an opening for a developer in its Model Development Group.

Here's a overview of the position:

The Central Transportation Planning Staff (CTPS) of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) seeks a developer to implement, adapt, and maintain models of travel behavior and transportation systems in various platforms to provide insights for transportation planning in the Boston region.

Transportation models are powerful tools that use data, behavioral theory, and mathematics to provide estimates of transportation conditions and give insights to support project and policy decision-making. The MPO is advancing a transportation model roadmap that defines a suite of new models to be developed, adopted, and maintained, and that supports existing tools and applications. The Model Developer will work as part of a team of transportation planners and modelers to realize the roadmap.

The Model Developer will be a key staff member working in the current roadmap phase to develop a new regionwide travel demand model in TransCAD with GIS-based input and output data and supporting utilities in Python and R. The Model Developer will adapt and develop new model scripts; conduct data preparation, analysis, and visualization; and contribute to user and developer documentation.
