Hello,

I work for local government and we are trying to grow our GIS Department, which resides within our IT Department. We have a population of about 330K and 6 GIS Analysts. We are trying to find out if the size of our GIS team is smaller or larger compared to other jurisdictions. I was wondering if anyone else that works for local government would be willing to provide us with some data.
  • What city/county do you work for?
  • What is the population of your city/county?
  • How many people are on your GIS team?
  • What department is the GIS team under or is it on its own?
  • Do all GIS staff work for a centralized GIS team? Or does each department have their own GIS staff? Or both, some departments have their own GIS staff and some departments depend on the GIS office for all GIS needs?
If you have different types of positions or specializations, I would be interested to see an org chart.

Thank you for your time!

Kristen
