Thad -

Esri and our Disaster Response Program are actively monitoring Tropical Storm Henri. We wanted to share some information and resources to help your response efforts.

Additional Data: There are several additional data sources that can be added to your maps and apps for situational awareness.

ArcGIS Solutions: From a capability perspective for hurricane response, the following are core solutions to consider.

·         Dashboard for your command center to monitor key indicators and current conditions in real time to help you maintain situational awareness (see this ArcGIS solution)

·         Configuring the Web AppBuilder with the Situational Awareness widget/template to better understand the situation and potential impact to your organization (see this  ArcGIS solution)

·         Share information with the public to convey information to keep them safe and point them to resources to help (see this  ArcGIS solution)

·         Conduct a Damage Assessment using a Survey123 form that can be used by staff in the field to conduct initial damage assessments, and apps that can used to monitor field assessments and determine whether damage costs exceed declaration thresholds (see this ArcGIS solution

·         Please note that some states have created Survey123 damage assessments for their local jurisdictions to use. If you think your state has done something similar, we recommend checking with your state emergency management agency.

·         Citizen Reporting – A set of capabilities to help you solicit non-emergency problem reports from the public (damage, 311 reports/issues, etc.), manage the response to each report, solicit feedback from the public after addressing a report, and monitor the resolution of non-emergency reports in the community (see this ArcGIS solution)

·         Collect and monitor debris – Tools for staff in the field to collect information on debris type and location to assess and report back where debris clean-up is needed and dashboards that can be used to monitor reports of debris and understand resource needs for clean-up (see this ArcGIS solution)

Community Apps: Here are a few good example apps for hurricanes from the community.

·         FEMA Geospatial Resource Center Hub Site – Hurricanes page – https://gis-fema.hub.arcgis.com/pages/hurricanes

·         FEMA Hurricane Incident Journal – https://gis-fema.hub.arcgis.com/app/97f53eb1c8724609ac6a0b1ae861f9b5

·         Esri Disaster Response Program GIS resource Hub for Hurricanes – https://esri-disasterresponse.hub.arcgis.com/pages/hurricane

·         Configuring ArcGIS for Hurricanes – https://arcg.is/0COLjb

·         Public Information Map – Hurricanes – https://arcg.is/10j9150

If you need support or if your GIS capabilities are exceeded, the Esri Disaster Response Program is here to support you with tech support, software, data, workflow advice/guidance, etc., make a request for assistance online at http://www.esri.com/disaster.  Requests are monitored 24/7/365.
