Hello all,

Statistical Horizons presents Applied Bayesian Data Analysis taught by Roy Levy. Held remotely via Zoom on September 23-25, this course offers a theoretical and practical introduction to Bayesian statistical modeling.

Topics covered include:
  • Machinery and interpretations of probability
  • Review of frequentist inference
  • Introducing Bayesian inference
  • Bernoulli/binomial models
  • Summarizing posterior distributions
  • Accumulation of evidence
  • Normal distribution models
  • Practical orientation to Markov chain Monte Carlo estimation
  • Regression models
  • Evaluating hypotheses about parameters & model comparison
  • Model checking
  • Principles of specifying prior distributions
This course is held live on Zoom each day from 10:30am-2:30pm ET, with an additional hands-on lab session Thursday and Friday afternoons from 4pm-5pm ET. You'll also have the option to join any or all of the course asynchronously by viewing recorded videos of each session.
