On October 21st, as part of the
AGIC Education & Training Symposium, Blue Marble Geographics is hosting
a lidar processing workshop featuring the recently released
Global Mapper Pro.
The workshop will explore a variety of 3D point cloud processing and analysis procedures using Global Mapper Pro and is a great introduction to the software. After a brief overview
of the key components of the software, attendees will examine several lidar and point cloud editing and filtering techniques, including automatic classification, noise removal, and positional rectification. The instructor will show the attendees the required
steps for transforming ground points into a DTM before introducing an array of terrain analysis procedures, including volume calculation, contour generation, and change detection.
