Dear Colleagues,

I write to provide an update on the availability of COVID-19 vaccines on the Storrs campus for individuals eligible for a booster or third dose.

Beginning on Wednesday, November 3, all eligible individuals 18 and older will be able to sign up for a vaccine booster or third dose administered by UConn Health on the second floor of the Brown Building on the Depot Campus. (Please follow signage at the Brown Building instructing vaccine recipients to enter via the handicap entrance in the rear of the building.) Booster and third dose definitions based on the CDC guidelines, along with additional eligibility criteria, are available on the UConn Health website.

Vaccine administration will take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Individuals must sign up via MyChart or by calling 860-679-5589. Walk-up appointments are not available.

When signing up, individuals will have the option to select the vaccine they receive (Pfizer, Moderna, or Janson). Additionally, individuals will need to verify whether they are signing up for a booster (an additional dose for a non-immune-compromised individual), or a third dose (a dose recommended as part of an immune-compromised individual’s primary vaccine series). Individuals signing up through MyChart will perform their own self-assessment of the eligibility criteria and select the option best suited to their circumstances. Employees may review eligibility criteria on the UConn Health website and may direct questions to UConn Health via the phone number above.

For employees, the receipt of a booster or third dose is voluntary and outside of the scope of the University’s current Mandatory Workforce COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

Thank you,

Chris
