Greetings fellow GIS-ers,

Were you interested in Monroe Community College’s online Web Mapping course offered Spring 2022 but were put on the wait list?  Missed enrollment entirely but think it sounds cool?  First time hearing about it and want to know more?

MCC in Rochester, NY is offering one of its three new GIS courses this Spring for the first time – Web Mapping.  The course is entirely online and can be taken from wherever you are.  Enrollment in the first section of the course was so popular that we just added a second section, open now!!  The course will cover topics including but not limited to: volunteered geographic information like OpenStreetMap, map services like Mapbox, and mobile GIS apps for field data collection like ESRI’s Field Maps.

Please see the attached flyer and feel free to reach out to myself or Professor Jon Little (cc’d) with any questions.  A pre-requisite of our intro to GIS course (GEG-130 Digital Earth) is required, but anyone with previous GIS experience may reach out to Professor Little to discuss a course waiver, no problem!

This course is also one of three that are part of our new micro-credential geared towards GIS professionals.

Hope to see you in class! 😊

Thanks and happy holidays,

Catherine
