New paper in
Earth System Science Data —“Estimating Population
and Urban Areas at Risk of Coastal Hazards, 1990–2015: How Data Choices Matter”—uses improved data inputs
to estimate the population at risk to rising sea levels; and offers “fitness for use” guidelines to help policymakers better navigate data options.
The data set was developed and is distributed by the NASA Socioeconomic Data and Applications Center managed by CIESIN.
