Hey there,

Just wanted to throw in the 2 cents that you need an attached GPU if you want ArcGIS Pro to work well on a remote desktop. Additionally, you need to ensure that you have ArcGIS Pro configured in the settings to take advantage of the attached GPU. If that's all in place, you should have fantastic performance.

Hi Vin,

Various universities have been doing different flavors of this for the
past few years, though less with RDS's and more with cloud-based
virtualization. It was a topic of much discussion at the ESRI UC last
year in the Higher Ed tracks and Education Summit.  I can't find links
to any archived presentations from it, however.  ESRI seems to
discourage RDISH-style services for Pro, though:

At U-Mass Amherst we've been using Windows Virtual Desktop with mixed
success.  It works, but the way we have it set up requires some caveats
and it's much, much slower than running it on a local machine.
