More than 565 people have now attended the King County URISA-Certified half-day Introduction to GIS for Equity & Social Justice Workshop. Seats are still available for the next session on April 14, 2022. Register Today!

On January 20, 2021, President Biden signed his ‘Executive Order On Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government.’ This order recognized the key role of using geography to identify underserved communities, to identify inequity, and the importance of geography and information technology to put effective programs into place to pursue social justice. This workshop will outline the basis for applying GIS for ESJ and some of the fundamental approaches.

The instructors for this workshop will be Keith Clarke, ESJ Educator, and Greg Babinski, GISP & EthicalGEO Fellow. The workshop is targeted for both GIS professionals and equity and social justice advocates to learn emerging best practices. Learn more here and register today: https://lnkd.in/gEA3NpEg
