Dear Colleagues,
I write to announce that I have appointed Angelo Quaresima as the university’s interim associate vice president and chief audit executive, leading UConn’s
Office of Audit and Management Advisory Services. He has functionally been serving in this role since the tragic passing of Frank LaRosa last month. I would like to thank Angelo for his willingness to take on this responsibility under these difficult circumstances.
Angelo has two decades of experience as a high-level audit professional. He first came to UConn in 2008, serving as an internal auditor at UConn Health.
In 2011, he moved to Hartford Healthcare’s Office of Compliance, Audit and Privacy, where he was a research compliance specialist, and later, manager. He returned to UConn in 2015, serving on the Storrs campus as a university auditor before rising to become
senior auditor and later audit director in 2021.
Angelo began his career in the state’s Office of the Auditors of Public Accounts in 2001.
He earned his degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State University, is a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Certified Internal Auditor, and is certified
in Healthcare Research Compliance. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Health Care Compliance Association.
Once again, my thanks to Angelo for his leadership in assuming this critical role on an interim basis.
