Full Time Entry-Level GIS Analyst Position in Oneida, NY
Job Description:
FPM Remediation, Inc. is currently seeking to fill a GIS Analyst position at its Oneida, New York office. This position offers opportunity to gain industry experience and apply the latest technology assisting our clients by providing solutions to complex projects.
The Analyst will become part of a GIS team, led by a Senior GIS Analyst, involved in spatial analysis and the creation of ArcGIS maps and data management. The analyst will work with individual project teams to support a wide range of environmental investigation, remediation, and engineering projects.
Responsibilities: * Generate and update a variety maps utilizing ESRI's ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online platforms. * Environmental data collection. * Capture relevant data from multiple resources and utilizing GPS. * Generate, update, and manage various shapefiles and geodatabases. * Convert/Import/Export various file structures into GIS format.
Required Skills & Required Experience: * B.S. degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental, Geoenvironmental, or related field. * Ability to work with diverse teams to gather information in support of job duties.
* Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software is required.
* Working knowledge of ArcGIS Online.
* Use of projections, coordinate systems & map algebra in operations of geographic information systems.
* Ability to generate SDSFIE compliant metadata.
* Knowledge, interest, and project experience in GIS applications.
* Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Can work independently.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Highly motivated with ability to take an assignment and progress independently.
* Basic programing skills, Python scripting/programming a plus.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in basic computer applications, e.g., MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
* Able to obtain a security clearance.
