Overall, I think the plan puts the state in the right direction, and I think as a planning document it could tighten up its planning process (vision, mission, goals, actions) to be more specific, actionable, and measurable.

That’s the latest,

Have a great weekend!

Subject: Public Comment on the State Data Plan on Friday December 16, 2022

Hello CT GIS Network,

The State Data Plan<https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fcga.ct.gov%2Fgae%2Ftfs%2F20180726_Connecticut%2520Data%2520Analysis%2520Technology%2520Advisory%2520Board%2F20221110%2F2022%2520Connecticut%2520State%2520Data%2520Plan%2520Draft.pdf&data=05%7C01%7C%7C7e8d4b7a22c14d9104ca08dadf7efbce%7C17f1a87e2a254eaab9df9d439034b080%7C0%7C0%7C638068033728308758%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000%7C%7C%7C&sdata=4nUs51p%2FerH3RRIHr9w5As9oNVOAWu2Nnojq4t6d5To%3D&reserved=0> is drafted and officially public comment has closed but we can still provide written testimony regarding the plan. Since this plan sets the data goals for the State, and we utilize State data, it serves us to provide input when we can. If our comments can not be recognized this round, we’ll be well placed for the next iteration as well.

I’ll be sending this list of testimony to the State following the public comment portion of their upcoming Connecticut Data Analysis Technology Advisory Board Meeting on Friday December 16, 2022 (I know its short notice 😮). If you want to comment or sign on to someone else’s comment add it to the shared google document before the meeting kicks off and I’m happy to share in the public comment on your behalf. Note, This collection of comments reflects individual voices and not the collective voice of the Network.
