Evari GIS Consulting, Inc. seeks to hire local Boston, MA GIS Technicians for a project-based full-time position which will support field data collection efforts for the City of Boston’s Exterior Lighting Project. Selected applicants will work outside to survey and collect location and attribute data about existing exterior lighting fixtures located throughout the cities many parks and streets. The successful candidate will work as part of a team that travels throughout the City of Boston collecting data on exterior light at a time. The job length is projected to be 4 to 6 weeks. New hires will be trained by and work alongside our team of experienced Project Managers and Lead GIS Field Technicians. This is an exciting, entry level opportunity for anyone interested in working in the rapidly growing clean energy industry or is passionate about fighting climate change. Jobs in clean energy are expected to experience exponential growth due to recently passed federal legislation such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIL) and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) that will generate trillions in public and private investments in clean energy to combat climate change.

Required Skills and Experience

●     Entry level
●     Comfortable navigating Android tablet, familiarity with Google Apps: Calendar, Mail, Drive
●     Attention to work safety measures

●     Team player, cooperative, and ability to work well with coworkers
●     Problem-solver, excited about challenges and finding solutions

Nice to Have Characteristics

●     Drivers License with a clean driving record

●     Exposure to ArcGIS and ArcGIS Collector

Successful Candidate Must Have

●     Strong work ethic, enthusiasm for learning
●     Ability to walk and/or drive for extended periods

Employment Terms and Benefits:

●     Work in the field 8 hours a day
●     $18.50/hour start pay, paid biweekly
●     40 hr. week, 7:30-4:00 pm
●     Reimbursement for documented car mileage while auditing, if required ($.56/mile)
