Full Job Description
Engineering Records and Assets Manager, DPW Administration & Technical Support: 
Professional, highly technical and highly responsible administrative work in documenting, managing, organizing and recording information regarding infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, marine, recreational, buildings, etc.), and utilities located within the Town.  This position is responsible for collecting, digitizing, and managing spatial data using AutoCAD, Esri ArcGIS software, databases, and GPS software. Integrates data from asset management/work-order database programs, as-built record drawings, and field data collection to provide end users with accurate lists, mapping and attribute information. Additionally, serves as DPW’s representative overseeing the Town’s Enhanced 911 systems.  Requires the ability to apply GIS and database technology to produce advanced analysis and databases, to perform complex, integrated analysis for users using advanced spatial analysis and modeling. Responsible for the management and organization of the various AutoCAD products and licenses throughout the Department. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field, and Over five years of work experience in CAD/GIS; knowledge of construction and construction practices; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Class D driver’s license required. Must have a thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and Asset management programs.  Be very familiar with construction and construction practices.  Must be knowledgeable in database design and applications, management and customization of Access applications and familiarity with SQL databases, cartographic principles, geographic database design, map design, and manual drafting principles. Must have a strong analytical and mathematical background.  Ability to make accurate calculations and computations.  A strong understanding of databases, mapping principles, and Asset Management techniques.  Strong communication skills are required. Proficiency in the use of computers including word processing, power point, spreadsheets and database.  Skilled in the use of GPS, and other handheld digital data capture techniques.
