To be honest, I usually talk about color vision deficiencies as superpowers for map design, since folks with them are much more likely to design a map that is colorblind-friendly! I also have a web browser plugin called "Let's Get Color Blind" that allows you to simulate different kinds and degrees of color vision deficiency.
