This is also an opportunity to educate the rest of the class. I tell my staff to always assume someone in the audience is color blind. It is not just an accessibility issue, it's a professional and political one. I know several people (including myself) who at some point in their careers presented a map in an important meeting and found out that the most important person in the room could not read the map. And when the most important person in the room is angry at you for making a bad map, you have problems.

Adam,
As a cartographer with the same vision issues, I rely on one main resource. As Mara noted, ColorBrewer is an excellent resource for anyone with color deficiencies. Cynthia Brewer is an excellent and thoughtful cartographer and if you scratch the surface, you will find her influence throughout the Arc cartography and symbology toolsets.

Hi all,

I have a student that has color vision deficiencies and is looking for some resources and recommendations. I have found accessible styles that can be loaded into ArcGIS Pro and have located the Color Vision Deficiency Simulator tool. Would anyone be so kind as to share some other resources so I may help this student succeed?

Many thanks,

Adam
