Greetings GIS Friends!

Thinking of expanding your GIS knowledge and taking some college courses to learn new skills or brush up on old?  Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY is the place for you!

The 9 credit micro-credential for GIST professionals provides students an opportunity to increase their GIST skills in data acquisition, database management, Python for GIS, and web mapping.  It’s hard to believe it’s already time to start thinking about the fall semester and one of the three micro-credential classes is a fall class!

New to GIS and looking to learn more?  The GIST Certificate includes classes like Intro to Remote Sensing, Spatial Analysis, and a senior capstone course with a virtual internship as the culmination of the 24 credit program.  The certificate can be completed in one or two years and can be completed completely online.  Intro to Remote Sensing is also a fall class entirely online and fills up quickly so be sure to register soon.

All courses are offered online and fit the working professional’s schedule.  Just take it from me – I completed the certificate program in 2020 and am wrapping up the micro-credential now, all while working full-time in the GIS field!

Check out where GIST at MCC can take you!

Please see more information about the programs via the links above and reach out to Professor Jonathon Little with any questions at [log in to unmask]

Thank you!
Catherine
