Dear on-campus supervisors,
My name is Nancy Bilmes, and I am the Director for the UConn Center of Career Development. I am writing to you today to ask that you consider participating in the 2nd Annual Career Everywhere Conference.
For many student employees, their on-campus job is a first or second job for them and a great time for them to learn job related skills, including NACE Career Readiness Competencies that employers indicate are important for success post-graduation. You will
also learn how you can help students identify and build these important skills and competencies.
What is the Career Center’s Annual Career Everywhere Conference?
This year’s conference, titled Enhancing
Career Readiness: Equipping Students with Competencies for Post-Graduate Success
will focus on best practices in helping students build and articulate NACE’s
eight
Career Competencies and how supervisors and other faculty and staff can help students Become Career Ready. The eight NACE Career Readiness Competencies were compiled based on
research from hundreds of companies and organizations across industry lines and are seen widely by employers as critical for student success in the workforce.
How can I register?
You can find out details about the conference, which is being held on Friday, November 3rd on the Storrs campus and
register here.
Registration Deadline is, Wednesday, October 25th at 5:00 p.m.
Why is it important for
supervisors to attend this conference?
Why is the Career Center leaning on supervisors?
Best,
Nancy
