Thanks Tripp for this post! ArcMap just started to not to open for us. Your heads up saved us a few headaches. We had to try a few older versions of the driver, but we quickly had success.

Good afternoon,
If you are still running ArcMap and have an NVIDIA Video Card, you might experience issues with a recent Window update that will cause ArcMap to crash or not even open. We first heard about this issue when our client Jackson County Georgia
reported it to us.
If you are having an issue you will need to roll back your NVIDIA driver. For more information about this issue go to
https://community.esri.com/t5/arcmap-questions/temporary-fixes-for-arcmap-crashing-after-windows/m-p/1373067#M4768.
Esri is trying to find a better solution but since this was initiated by a Windows update which caused the conflict between ArcMap and the NVIDIA drivers there maybe not much Esri can do. ArcGIS Pro and web apps do not appear to be having
an issue.
