Overview
The AOT GIS Professional IV position within the Agency of Transportation (AOT) Mapping Section is a high-level GIS position that is instrumental in expanding the capabilities and functionality of the Section in web mapping, feature and map service development, and working toward efficient processes through innovation. This position will also support existing projects that include the Mileage Certificates, Town Highway Maps, Route Logs, the Transportation Resilience Planning Tool (TRPT), Rail Trail mapping, and creation of other mapping products.

This position provides GIS support for web mapping using the ArcGIS Online platform including Experience Builder, Map Viewer, Instant Apps, Dashboards, Web App Builder, Survey123, Field Maps, and Arcade expressions. Other common tasks include utilizing ArcGIS Pro and Desktop for geoprocessing, creating and updating cartographic deliverables, and publishing/editing hosted feature layers. This role is also responsible for developing scripted Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using ModelBuilder, Python, Feature Manipulation Engine (FME), or other methods. Knowledge of Power BI data models and report building is a plus.

This position is partially remote with one day a week required in person at Barre City Place.

Environmental Factors
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting although regional office visits will require travel. Fieldwork may be required. Attendance at meetings, seminars or conferences outside of normal work hours may be necessary. Manual dexterity is required in operating computers and GIS-related hardware, as are good eyesight and eye-hand coordination.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science, transportation, engineering, or other closely related field AND two (2) or more years of experience in GIS, geography, computer science, , transportation, engineering, or other closely related field.
OR
Associate's degree or two (2) years of college coursework in GIS, geography, computer science, transportation, engineering, or other closely related field AND four (4) or more years of experience in in GIS, geography, computer science, transportation, engineering, or other closely related field.
OR
Six (6) or more years of experience in in GIS, geography, computer science, transportation, engineering, or other closely related field.
